Blue Islands airline launch Zurich route |

Blue Islands, the Channel islands-based regional airline, is now the fastest growing at Southampton Airport. This week, Will Noble from Ouvrir traveled on the inaugural VIP flight to Zurich with a distinguished business delegation.
Delegates were welcomed by the Blue Islands management team to a champagne reception at Southampton Airport before boarding their flight to Zurich, via a 15 minute stop-over at Jersey Airport - to allow other passengers to board. A further VIP reception at Zurich airport was followed by an informal dinner in the evening at which delegates were given the opportunity to meet their opposite numbers from the Zurich business community.
As a Director of Southampton & Fareham Chamber of Commerce & Industry Will Noble was introduced to Carolyn Helbling the Managing Director of The Swiss British Chamber of Commerce. Mr Noble and Mrs Helbling discussed a closer working relationship and exchanged a draft Memorandum of Understanding to be negotiated in the coming weeks.
The south coast market is a key part of the Blue Islands' network, with four daily services to and from Guernsey, two daily flights to Jersey (offering Southampton businesses the opportunity of a day return), and the first services from Southampton to Geneva and Zurich six days a week (Sunday to Friday) which began last month.
"I'm delighted to have been invited to join this important delegation and to support a new service from Southampton Airport. Derek Coates' ambitious launch and plans are the welcome fillip to the doom-mongers we hear too much from these days." Will Noble commented. "We had some excellent meetings in Zurich and I am confident the new service will be a massive success. In particular, Southampton Chamber looks forward to building a closer working relationship with The British Swiss Chamber of Commerce".
